Dear ones;

Sunday, November 16th, 2003: An auspicious day which will live in our memories forever. Very much as in an initiation we may go into a temple with reverence and devotion. But, unless we experience the feeling of relaxation, as of being on very familiar holy grounds, contentment, peace, friendship, happiness, etc., we can’t really say that we have completely savor the encounter and the going through of the event itself. That was the feeling of being there, in meditation, in the presence of the Relics. You had to be there to experience such a feeling and transformation.

It was felt, besides the interesting explanation, historic data, and the kind talk itself by the Buddhist nun and her assistant who brought us the marvelous gift of the Relics presentation.

It is more about the feeling of communion and community felt while the relics were on display. The "vibrations", the "energy" and the "feelings" linger after the fact that the actual physical items are gone, and perhaps never again in this life time will we be able to and fortunate enough to be close to such a magnificent exposition.

Just the fact of being in the presence of those tiny crystallized remains of the Buddhas, Saints and sages who walked on this very same planet 2500 years ago, is in itself an unbelievable mind boggling concept to attain. But, the impact becomes greater after the experience of lighting the candles, praying for World Peace, chanting while practicing walking meditation in a clockwise manner around the Relics, and sitting in silence with the moment, and the splendid spectacle! What a joy!

It is as if time and space disappear, and only the oneness and the void of the experience itself is left whole. For a moment I feel that I am that, and the very embodiment of those great Masters are here with me, within my own heart. Just for a second, my soul rejoices, the mind rest, I am at Peace, as if a burden has been lifted! I see myself as "walking on clouds".

Thank you Lama Yeshe, K.C. Walpole, Father Hereford, the Institution, all in the group of participants present yesterday, and all of those who in one way or another made possible this extraordinary spiritual event.

My most sincere appreciation for a unique life experience which I can’t ever forget for it is imbedded at my heart’s center.

"With great honor, respect and love, I welcome you all...."

Emil
